Home Tour

Hi there! Welcome to our home! I hope you enjoy our little tour! This page is a work in progress, so check back often for updates! More photos and details to come soon!

Front yard:

We haven't done much out front yet. We did paint our door knob and knocker. Plan for the fall... get rid of all those bushes and put in a pretty garden! We eventually want to cut down that tree so that the house is visible and replant one off towards the right.

Backyard:

Patio makeover | Meet the B's

The backyard was decision maker in buying this house! We love the yard, so we've come up with lots of plans to make it an enjoyable space. We've already made some progress by trimming 2-3 feet of height off of the azaleas that line the backyard. We also cut down that holly tree and put down grass seed. We're working on removing ivy that covers the back of the lawn. We also put in a pond, which I plan to share with you soon! We've redecorated the patio and eventually will redo the paving for a more cozy space.

Entryway:

Entryway | Meet the B's

The entryway has had the most work done so far. Aside from the floors, which were a big project for the whole downstairs, we painted, changed all the door knobs, changed both light fixtures, bought furniture, painted a mirror, and created our own artwork! Check out my tips on creating a more welcoming entryway.

Table- Pier 1
Light fixtures- Overstock
Mirror- Hobby Lobby (and then DIY!)

The living room was a lot of fun to work on! We bought all new furniture (except the entertainment center... new one soon maybe?) and lots of new accessories. We could still use a few more accessories, but it's a work in progress!

Coffee table & end tables- Overstock
Entertainment center- Ikea
Distressed floating shelf- Home Goods
Clock- World Market

Playroom

This room is technically what most would call "the formal living room." For the longest time, we called it "the fireplace room" and it really served no purpose for us. Now that we have Cade it has become the playroom! It has a long way to go, but for now it's doing it's job just fine. Sometimes, simple is all you need!

Half bath:

We were lucky when we moved in that this room didn't need much! It's already been updated with that fancy sink and the paint color is tolerable for now. I actually really like the color, but the room is small, so it makes it really dark. I'll eventually paint it a lighter neutral, but it's at the bottom of my to do list. For now, we just added some art and accessories to spruce it up!

Paint color- Valspar "Clam Shell"
Artwork- Kohl's
Basket- Michael's

Farmhouse kitchen makeover

We made over our kitchen for the Fall 2016 One Room Challenge. I wanted a bright and light modern farmhouse style kitchen, and I'm thrilled with how it turned out. We painted the cabinets, updated the hardware, added a skinny shiplap wall, and brightened up the walls. We also saved some money on a new backsplash by using faux brick paneling. With a few new accessories, we had a perfect "new" kitchen that I am so in love with!

Paint color- Sherwin Williams "Eider White" and "Alabaster"

Lighting- Overstock + these seeded glass shades

So far, we've done absolutely nothing with our master bedroom! Mostly because we have no idea what we want to do! We're brainstorming color palettes and hope to get to work this winter!!

Master bedroom closet:

Okay... so it's just a closet... but it's my girly space and I love it! It's so feminine and my absolute favorite colors. It doesn't quite go with the rest of the house's style, but that's okay, because nobody comes in here but me! :) See the full master closet reveal.

    1. Thanks Maria :) We did hang them ourselves!! There were awful ugly gold ones and a giant pineapple chandelier here when we moved in!!! Yikes! We got all of our light fixtures on Overstock.com and they were so easy to hang :)

  4. Your house looks amazing! I am in love with that table and light fixture in your dining room. We have been looking for a dining room table but just hadn't found the right one yet. We may just have to check out World Market. I was snooping around on your about me page as well and it seems we have a lot in common. Grey and any shade of blues/greens are my fav. too! And--my husband is a little obsessed with zombies (I don't get it)
I came across your blog from the July Blog Hobnob

    1. Thanks so much Amanda! I LOVE World Market. If I had my way, everything in my house would be from there! They have the perfect combination of rustic and colorful. And so far, I haven't seen any zombies there ;)
