DIY Modern Industrial Collage Wall- Sources & How Tos

This collage wall for our dining room has been a long time comin'! I made the first piece, the wood slice art, back in November of 2014!! I wanted to DIY most of the collage, and I'm a busy gal, so I worked on one piece at a time. I finally finished it in September, but the last few months of pregnancy were a whirl wind so I never had a chance to post it. Well, here it is finally!!! Phew!!!

See below for sources and brief how to's for each piece of art!

DIY Heat-transfer Vinyl Hashtag Onesies

DIY Silhouette project! Make cute #hashtag onesies using heat-transfer vinyl.

Pregnancy is such a whirlwind, right? I was lucky enough that one of my best friends was pregnant at the same time as me! She was due a month before me and also having a boy! Because of our crazy RN work schedules, we don't see each other super often, but it was soooo nice having someone I could relate to during pregnancy. And now with a newborn, it's even better! Hanging out with another momma or being able to send a text when new mommyhood has you stumped on something is such a blessing. And I'm so excited for our little guys to be old enough to enjoy play dates together!

Anyway, both of our little babes had Instagram hashtags before they were even born. So I thought some cute personalized hashtag onesies would be fun! I'm slowly trying to get the hang of my Silhouette cutting machine, and this was the perfect opportunity to practice!

Meet Cade- Our Birth Story

Okay, okay, better late than never right?! Our sweet little boy is almost two months old, so I better get to introducing him!!! I promised you a birth story, but life with a newborn is busy and time has zoomed by! I've been busy enjoying every second watching my little nugget grow! Now that our days are becoming a little more predictable, I'm here to finally share our story!

Monthly DIY Challenge- Best of 2015

Monthly DIY Challenge- Best of 2015

One of my favorite things about blogging is the Monthly DIY Challenge I participate in. Each month, a group of my friends and I select a challenge item or theme. We each use our own creative interpretation to come up with a project. It's a ton of fun and really one of the main reasons I still keep my blog going. I absolutely love seeing how we each come up with something totally different from the same starting point! Just goes to show ya how the creative mind works!

For January's challenge, we decided to do a little recap. We're each sharing our best, most popular challenge from last year! In addition, we want to see your best projects of 2015 too! Take a peek at our challenges below and then add your own projects to the Inlinkz widget at the bottom of the page!

How we're saving on cable TV

How to save money on your cable bill

Since we found out I was pregnant last spring, my husband and I started looking at ways to trim our budget to help accommodate the new cost of a baby (hello diapers and daycare!). One of the things we researched heavily was how to decrease our cable bill. Once the little guy was born, we implemented what we had learned!

My husband and I aren't huge TV watchers, but we do frequently watch HGTV, The Food Network, and ESPN. We also love to watch movies. I so wish that cable providers would allow you to pick and choose your channels instead of paying for thousands of channels that never even get watched! We wanted to find a way around this backwards system. We ended up saving $40/month off of our TV expenses which is almost $500 a year!
