This month's challenge was wood slices. Each blogger could make anything they wanted out of any kind of wood slice. My favorite thing about these challenges is seeing all the different ways one object can be transformed. It's so awesome! I'm so excited for you to see what we all came up with!

Your Turn To Shine- Week 7

Hello friends! I've been crafting my little heart out this week, so I can't wait to share some new fun projects with you! What have you been working on lately? We can't wait for you to share your latest creations with us!

Wood-burned Cutting Board Gift

At some point this year, you may have heard me talk about all the weddings my husband and I were going to this year. A few weekends ago we attended our ninth wedding for 2014, for a sweet couple who have been fabulous friends to my parents and have the most wonderful love story. But nine?! Can you believe it? It's like the year of love or something! Good thing I love weddings! I could just soak in all the wedding decor all day :) And we feel pretty blessed to have been able to watch so many people commit themselves to a lifetime together. It's a pretty special thing to watch (and made me shed a lot of tears this year!).

Wedding gifts are always a little tough... do you get something off of the registry? Do you give money? What's acceptable? Since getting married ourselves, my husband and I have mostly given monetary gifts because that's what most people gave us and it was tremendously helpful in recovering from wedding costs! We also throw in a small something personal if we stumble across the perfect thing that reminds us of a couple.

But what do you give to a couple who already has a home and everything they need? What if there is no registry? What if money isn't appropriate? What if it's a non-traditional wedding? Well, you give something unique, personal, and perhaps a little creative (because you know I love creative!)

I came up with a cute little idea that's perfect for a wedding gift, housewarming gift, or any occasion! In fact, I might design one for myself too!

Personalized wood-burned cutting board. The perfect gift idea!

Happy November!!! Hope you all had a fabulous Halloween! My husband and I went to a fun event at the Maryland Science Center. There were several live bands and so many great costumes! We hadn't dressed up in several years, so it was tons of fun! The next day we traveled to my home town for a cute little barn wedding! So all in all a great weekend!

Thanks for stopping by! We are having SO much fun watching our link party grow! It's a blast meeting all of you and connecting with new bloggers! You guys are so creative! I love it! Now, let's party!

Painted Fall Sign- Happy Fall Y'all!

When people ask me where my craftiness came from, I like to give credit to my parents. Both of them are pretty creative and like to make things. I totally think I get my DIY eye from them! Anyway, one of my mom's best gift giving tips is to look at a person's Pinterest for ideas of things they like, want, or need. Well, for my birthday this year, my crafty parents found this DIY column stand on my "Curb Appeal" Pinterest board and decided to make it for me! Aren't they awesome?
