Wedding Wednesday- How to make chiffon flowers

Wedding Wednesday
Happy Wednesday, friends! Hope you're having a great week so far!
Today, I'm sharing a pretty useful craft! Learn how to make chiffon flowers! We used tons of these in our wedding decor, but they can be used for so many other things too! You don't even need to be good at sewing! So give it a try :)
You will need...
  • chiffon fabric
  • thread
  • embellishment (sequins, faux gemstones, vintage buttons, etc)
  • circle template
  • scissors
  • straight pin

Cut a template out of paper. I made several different flower sizes for our wedding projects by tracing around different sized cups. Once you have your template, fold the chiffon so that you have six layers.

Pin the template to the fabric to keep it from moving. Cut around the template. This should give you six circular pieces of chiffon.

Fold the chiffon circle in half.

Fold in half again to create a triangle shape.

Once you have folded all six, put them all onto the needle through the "point" of the triangles.

Fan out the triangles so that they go all around the needle to create a flower shape.

Now, thread the needle through the center of the flower a few times.

Add an emellishment to the center using super glue.

Add the chiffon flower to other projects and decor.

Here's a few of the things we used them for!
  • Bridal garter
  • Signature drink sign
  • Flower girl dress sashes
  • Bird house decor
